Meet Jenny Shoemaker, our dedicated Lead LVT. Originally from Pennsylvania, Jenny completed her Veterinary Technician program at Lehigh Carbon Community College before settling in Louisville with her husband and their beloved lab/mastiff mix, Arya.
With experience spanning general practice, specialty surgery, and emergency care, Jenny is deeply passionate about providing quality care to her patients and advocating for their well-being. In her leisure time, she finds joy in outdoor activities and exploring new restaurants.

Meet Zach Byrnes, one of our dedicated veterinary assistants! With nearly 8 years of experience in the vet field, Zach harbors a deep-seated passion for the well-being of our furry companions. Holding a bachelor's degree in biology from Indiana University, with a focus in animal sciences, microbiology, and chemistry, Zach's academic background underscores his commitment to veterinary medicine.
At home, Zach shares his household with his wife, two children, and three beloved German Shepherds, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Amidst the hustle and bustle, Zach finds solace in his hobbies, which include attending college baseball games and swim meets for his children, playing ice hockey, running, lifting weights, and indulging in his passion for chess.
Continuously seeking growth in his career, Zach plans to commence classes to become a certified vet tech later this summer. With a diverse array of experiences over the last 25 years, Zach attests that his current role brings him unparalleled joy, as he eagerly anticipates each day at Livewell.

Lauren's Biography
Meet Lauren Fitch, one of our dedicated vet assistants! A Louisville native, Lauren graduated from Assumption High School in 2005 and earned her Bachelors in Animal Science from Murray State University in 2010. With over a decade of experience working with animals, Lauren found her home at Lyndon Animal Clinic before joining our wonderful team at Anchorage team in the winter of 2022.
Lauren has a special interest in small animal dentistry and client education. Off duty, she resides on a farm in Pleasureville with her husband and their two children. In her free time, Lauren enjoys riding her beloved horse, Dallas, and raising Scottish Highland Cattle.

Introducing Melanie Berry, our compassionate receptionist! Originally from Lebanon Junction, KY, Melanie now calls LaGrange, KY home with her beloved husband. Together, they share a bustling household with two sons and three bonus children. Their furry family members include a Labrador named Buck and two cats, Luke and Leia.
While Melanie may be new to the veterinary field, her lifelong love for animals shines through. In her free time, she enjoys quality moments with her husband, embarking on hiking adventures, reading, and fishing.

Summer is originally from North Carolina and moved to Kentucky with her family 5 years ago. She has been a receptionist for the Veterinary profession since March of 2023 . Helping furry friends get the loving care they need to ensure happiness and health brings her joy. Summer is a proud wife and mother to three wonderful children. Spending quality time with her family, playing with her jack russell mix, Hazel, and baking muffins for her kids are some of her favorite things to do. Summer is very excited to be a part of the Livewell Anchorage team!

Emilie's Biography
Emilie Davis, one of our delightful receptionists, recently settled in Louisville after 15 years in Orlando. Emilie is thrilled to experience the charm of living somewhere with four distinct seasons, though she secretly wishes for a bit more snow in the winter. With a rich tapestry of global experiences, including living in France, Germany, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia, Emilie brings a unique perspective to our team.
Emilie earned her Human Resources degree from Colorado State University, initially switching from pre-vet to business majors. Throughout her academic journey, she gained valuable experience in the veterinary field, including serving as a large animal veterinary assistant in rural France. A devoted pet mom to numerous cats, several dogs, hermit crabs, and even a guinea pig over the years, Emilie shares her life with her husband and their three grown children.Fluent in French and a certified SCUBA diver, Emilie's diverse interests also extend to poetry, with her work published in the Library of Congress!

Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, and pocket pets, Audrey's passion for animal care runs deep.
Currently, Audrey shares her life with two beloved pit mixes and finds joy in visiting the park with them and indulging in horseback riding. With her natural affinity for animals and commitment to exceptional customer service, Audrey is an invaluable addition to our team.
